Getting things done around the house can be hard when your toddler is bored or has nothing to occupy their time. You’ll need clever ways to keep them busy if you plan on doing chores, or just getting a little breather. Try the following activities to keep them occupied, happy, and out of your hair!
Sensory Bin
If you have chores to do outside, consider bringing out a small table with a container of play sand or kinetic sand. Hide different objects in it for a fun sensory bin. This is also a great activity for your toddler to explore different kinds of textures. It should occupy them long enough to get some yard work done, and it will allow you both to partake in the fresh outdoor air.
Simple Puzzles
Simple puzzles are an awesome way to keep your toddler occupied for awhile. They will have fun while working on their problem solving skills and hand-eye coordination! Set them up on the kitchen table while preparing lunch or dinner.
Arts and Crafts
Arts and crafts are a great option to keep your toddler occupied. These Enriching ribbon crafts are sure to be a hit! On the other hand, if you don’t have time to set up a big craft project, give them a stack of paper, markers and crayons and let them draw until their heart’s content.
Build a Fort
Building a fort was always one of the most exciting things we did as kids, and it won’t be any different for your toddler. Choose an area in the house you can leave the fort up because this activity can keep your toddler busy for a couple of days! Let them eat, play, and let their imaginations run wild in their fort…they will keep busy and have a blast!
