5 from 2 votes
This easy homemade carrot baby food puree combines naturally sweet carrots with a hint of coriander. Just two ingredients and a simple way to introduce new flavors to babies around 6 months and older!
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings: 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 large carrots
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground coriander

Equipment

  • Baby Brezza Food Maker

Method

  1. Wash, peel, and cut the carrots into 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. Add the carrots and ground coriander to the Baby Brezza Food Maker. Set the machine to steam for 25 minutes and puree automatically, following your machine's instructions.
  3. Allow the puree to cool to a safe serving temperature. Stir and check the texture before serving. If necessary, blend again or add a small amount of water, prepared formula, or breast milk to reach your baby's preferred consistency.
Alternative method (without a Baby Brezza)
  1. Steam or boil the carrots until very tender, approximately 10–15 minutes depending on the size of the pieces. Drain if boiled, then blend with the coriander and a small amount of liquid until smooth.

Notes

  • Recipe Tips:
    • For a smoother puree, use a high-powered blender.
    • Adjust the consistency with a small amount of water, prepared formula, or breast milk as needed.
    • Try substituting coriander with a small amount of dill, oregano, ginger, or cinnamon for different flavors.
    • Introduce carrots and coriander separately before combining them if either ingredient is new to your baby.
    • Refrigerate leftovers promptly in an airtight container for up to 1–2 days, or freeze in individual portions for 1–2 months.
    • Discard any leftovers from your baby's serving bowl.
Feeding Note: This recipe is intended for babies who are developmentally ready for solid foods, typically around 6 months of age. Always serve at a safe temperature and in a texture appropriate for your baby's development. Consult your pediatrician with any feeding or allergy concerns.
