How do you make Valentine’s heart pancakes?
Ingredients:
- pancake batter
- red food coloring
- butter or oil for cooking
For topping (optional)
- whipped cream
- Valentine’s sprinkles
Equipment:
Step 1: Use your favorite pancake mix or pancake recipe to make pancake batter. Divide the batter evenly into two separate bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and mix it together. Repeat until you reach your desired color.
Step 2: Heat butter or oil in a skillet over low heat. Pour the batter in the skillet and cook for a few minutes on each side, until the pancakes are cooked all the way through. **These pancakes look best without any color or browning, which is why it’s best to cook them over low heat.
Step 3: Once the pancakes are cooked, use a heart cookie cutter to cut a heart shape out of the middle of each pancake. Then, place a pink heart in the center of a white pancake, and vice versa as pictured below. Repeat with all of the pancakes. Serve with whipped cream and sprinkles (optional) or any other toppings that you’d like. Enjoy!
