Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat a little olive oil (just enough for a thin coat) in a pan over medium heat. Then, place a tortilla in the pan and add a layer of cheese to the entire tortilla.
  • Add the pizza sauce to half of the tortilla. (A little sauce goes a long way…too much sauce will cause it to ooze out when cutting, and will make the quesadillas soggy). Then, add the fresh basil and any other toppings you’d like to the same half of the tortilla.
  • Once the cheese has melted, fold the tortilla in half. Then, continue to cook on each side until it is golden brown (1-2 minutes).
  • Cut the quesadilla into 3-4 pieces and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Try adding your favorite pizza toppings such as olives, mushrooms, peppers, etc.

  • If you're serving a lot of people, baking the quesadillas will save you time. Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Then, assemble the quesadillas. Make sure the sauce is in the middle (surrounded by cheese) so it doesn’t make the tortilla soggy. Place the quesadillas on a baking sheet brushed with olive oil. Then, brush the tops of the quesadillas with olive oil. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Make sure to flip the quesadillas half way through.
