Adequate Amount of Sleep
Did you know that children between kindergarten and 6th grade need between 9 and 11 hours of sleep every night? To keep your child healthy this school year, establish a bedtime routine to ensure they get enough sleep every night. Proper sleep positively affects eating habits, behavior, and the ability to fight off infections.
Hand Washing
Lastly, hand washing is important because classrooms are filled with germs. The best way to teach your child how long to wash their hands is by singing the birthday song twice in a row. Germs and bacteria can spread quickly, but washing their hands properly can prevent them from getting sick.
