Cereal jewelry is a fun, healthy, and less-messy way for babies and toddlers to snack! Create bracelets and necklaces for them to wear and eat on the go.
Cereal Jewelry for Teething Babies
Teething babies are always looking for something to chew on. This is a fun and easy way for them to have access to snacks at all times! It is also a great way for them to practice their fine motor skills.
Of course, this is only safe once your baby is eating solid food and is accustomed to chewing. If you have any doubts, always consult your baby’s pediatrician.
Cereal Jewelry for Toddlers
I don’t know about you, but my toddler makes a MESS every time she eats. Stringing her snacks on a bracelet or necklace makes it difficult for her to spill or throw (thank goodness!), so it’s definitely a mom win!
Not to mention, she absolutely loves to wear jewelry…so having edible jewelry makes her day!
What kind of cereal and fruit work best?
I like to use multi-grain Cheerios because they’re healthy and my kids like them. You can use any type of Cheerios, or other cereal with a similar shape. Remember, it has to have a hole to put the string through.
Adding fruit to the cereal jewelry is optional. I used fresh blueberries because they’re not messy, but you can use any type of fruit you’d like.
How do you make cereal jewelry?
You will need:
- toothpick
- tape
- scissors
- elastic string
- Cheerios (or other cereal with a hole in the center)
- fresh blueberries (optional)
Step 1: Wrap the elastic string around the toothpick a few times, then use tape to secure it.
Step 2: String cereal and blueberries until you’ve reached your desired length.
Step 3: Cut the string and (double) tie the two ends together. Cut off excess string. And that’s it! Your little one can wear and eat it!
