Easy Flower Paper Fan Kids Craft

Spring is here, the weather is warming up, and flowers are blooming. What a better way to celebrate spring than by making this cute flower paper fan with your kids? They’ll have fun making it, and can use it to cool off on a hot, sunny day.

How Do You Make A Flower Paper Fan?

Supplies:

2 pieces of white paper
yellow marker
ruler
green paint
paint brush
popsicle stick
tape
scissors
glue
clothes pins
white thread

Step 1: Paint the popsicle stick green on both sides, and let it dry completely. Set it aside.

Step 2: Meanwhile, place a ruler in the center of a piece of white paper. Trace both sides of the ruler with a yellow marker, then color in between the two lines. Repeat with the second paper.

Step 3: Stack the two papers on top of each other, then fold it like an accordion (fold a small strip, flip it over and fold another strip of the same width, then repeat these steps).

Step 4: Separate the two papers, then fold each “accordion” in half to give them a good crease. Then, use a pair of scissors to cut a rounded edge on each accordion. This will be the flower’s petals. Line the two accordions up to make sure they are the same length.

Step 5: Next, glue the two pieces together to form one long accordion and let it dry (see picture below).

Step 6: Tie a piece of white thread in the middle of the flower. Make sure it’s tight, as this will hold the fan together. Cut off the excess thread.

Step 7: Glue the two top sides of the flower together. Use clothespins to hold them together while they dry. Then, glue the popsicle stick in between the bottom two sides of the flower. Make sure to use clothespins to hold them together as well. See pictures below.
