DIY Father's Day Gift

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time coming up with ideas for gifts!

If you’re in the same boat, I’ve got you covered! This DIY Father’s Day gift is a fun, upcycled craft that your kids can make. All that’s required are dad’s favorite 4 or 6 pack (once he’s done drinking it), some paint, and his favorite snacks!

How do you clean sticky labels off glass bottles?

This DIY gift requires clean (upcycled) glass bottles, but getting the labels off can be tough.

I peeled the labels off as best as I could, then applied a paste made with baking soda and oil. After letting it sit for a few minutes, I was able to clean off all of the sticky stuff with minimal effort.

Supplies:

  • A used 4 or 6 pack of glass bottles along with the cardboard carrier (preferably clear bottles with twist cap)
  • paint
  • paint brush
  • Dad’s favorite snacks to fill the bottles
  • construction paper, pens, stickers, etc. to decorate with

Step 1: Clean and dry the bottles. For tips on how to clean the labels off, scroll up on this post.

Step 2: Paint the outside of the cardboard carrier and let it dry completely. Then decorate it as you’d like. We used construction paper and markers, but you can also use stickers, glitter, or anything else you can think of!

Step 3: Fill the bottles with Dad’s favorite snacks, then put the caps back on. If your bottles aren’t twist-offs, use a small piece of plastic wrap on the top of each bottle to seal it, then put the caps on. Place the bottles in the carrier, and that’s it! The perfect DIY Father’s Day gift for Dad!

Don’t forget about Mom!
