Kids in the Kitchen

Getting your kids involved in the kitchen is a fantastic way to bond with them. It also presents so many learning opportunities from developing fine motor skills, to reading and math.

This recipe is very simple, so kids of all ages can get involved! Depending on their age and skill, they can spread the whipped cream, cut the watermelon into pizza slices, cut the fruit toppings, and top the pizza.

These are the knives my kids use when helping me in the kitchen. They are light weight, easy to grip, and extremely safe. They do a great job cutting fruit, bread, cheese, and basically anything that’s not too hard (like a carrot).

Toddler Knife Set for Real Cooking

SHARP ENOUGH TO CUT FOOD, NOT SKIN: These kid friendly knives have serrated edges which easily cut fruit & vegetables, but are safe for your little ones, making this a toddler safe knife set every little chef loves using.

How do make watermelon pizza?

Ingredients:

  • watermelon
  • Cool Whip
  • fruit for toppings (I used strawberries, kiwis and blueberries)

Step 1: Slice the watermelon to get a circular piece, about 1″ thick. Then cut the round piece of watermelon into 8 slices to form the pizza base.

Step 2: Transfer the watermelon slices to a plate, then spread the Cool Whip over the watermelon slices to create the “pizza sauce.”
