Halloween is around the corner, so why not take this opportunity to do a few more festive crafts with your kids?

Here are 5 fun and easy Halloween craft ideas that your kids will love!

1. Apple Stamping

What kid doesn’t love stamping? Use an apple to create a pumpkin stamp! Keep it simple, or carve out a Jack-O-Lantern face.

Dry the apple with a paper towel before applying paint to it. Use a paint brush to apply a thin layer of paint, then stamp away!

2. Egg Carton Pumpkin Patch

Create a pumpkin patch out of an egg carton, pipe cleaners and construction paper (or a brown paper bag).

Cut the egg carton to form pumpkins, as pictured above. Paint them orange and let them dry. Once they’re dry, glue them to a piece brown paper. Then, use small pieces of brown paper to create the pumpkins’ stems and use green pipe cleaners to create vines.

3. Toilet Paper Roll Mummy

Make a mummy out of a toilet paper roll, tissue paper and googly eyes.

Paint a toilet paper roll with black paint and let it dry. Then, glue on two googly eyes. Glue scrunched up strips of tissue paper onto the toilet paper roll to create the mummy’s wrap.

4. Tissue Paper Jack-O-Lantern and Ghost

Create a jack-o-lantern and ghost with tissue paper. These are super cute, and will keep your child busy!

Cut out a jack-o-lantern and ghost shape out of card stock or cardboard. Then, draw an outline of the eyes and mouth. Next, take small pieces tissue paper and scrunch them up. Glue the pieces of tissue paper to the card stock. I used construction paper to fill in the eyes and stem but you can use tissue paper for that as well.

5. Resist Art

Use a white crayon and paint to create cool Halloween resist art. Want to “wow” your kids? Draw a secret Halloween design for them, and let them paint over it to reveal the picture.

Draw your Halloween art on a piece of white paper. Then paint over it using water color or tempera paint. If you’re using tempera paint, just use a thin layer of paint to allow the white crayon to show through.
