Fun Fall Facts for Kids

  • Trees that lose their leaves in the fall are called “deciduous” trees.
  • Leaves that change colors in the fall are actually changing back to their true colors. Chlorophyll changes the leaves’ color to green in the spring and summer.
  • People who live close to the equator (in tropical areas such as Hawai’i), don’t experience fall. The temperature stays warm all year long, and the trees stay green!
