With Halloween just around the corner, what better way to get into the spooky spirit than making a fun and creative craft project with your kids! These Halloween suncatchers are perfect for adding a festive touch to your windows, doors, or any sunlit corner of your home. Even better, we’ve included free printable templates to make it easy!
You’ll Need:
Step 1: Flatten your coffee filter and place it on a paper plate or newspaper. Add a little yellow and orange paint onto the coffee filter. I like to put it all on one side, but anywhere is fine! A little paint goes a long way as, we will be removing the excess.
Step 2: Fold a piece of paper towel, then use it to spread the paint around the entire coffee filter. Make sure to get it all the way to the edge. The goal is to have a thin layer of paint to allow the light to shine through it, so use the paper towel to spread/soak up the excess paint. Set it aside to dry.
Step 3: While the coffee filter is drying, print the templates and cut them out.
Step 4: Glue the Halloween decorations onto the coffee filter and let them dry. Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as you’d like!
Step 5: When everything is dry, tape the suncatchers on to a well-lit window and watch them glow!
