Looking for a fun Halloween snack platter that’s a little spooky, easy to make, and doesn’t require a ton of ingredients? This Halloween snack board is filled with creepy finger breadsticks, bloody lychee eyeballs, and an easy mummy dip!
I wanted to make something festive for Halloween without spending hours in the kitchen or buying a bunch of ingredients I’d never use again. So I put together three simple Halloween snacks and filled in the rest of the platter with pretzels and popcorn.
The best part? Everything is vegetarian, and you can easily customize the platter with your family’s favorite snacks.
What’s on This Halloween Snack Platter?
This spooky snack board has three fun Halloween-themed treats:
- Creepy Finger Breadsticks: Homemade-looking fingers made from store-bought pizza dough, marinara sauce, and sliced almonds.
- Bloody Lychee Eyeballs: Canned lychees filled with strawberry jelly and fresh blueberries.
- Mummy Dip: Your favorite creamy dip decorated with strips of string cheese and candy eyes.
I used flat pretzels and popcorn to fill in the empty spaces. Both are inexpensive, kid-friendly, and go well with the rest of the platter.
You don’t need a fancy charcuterie board or special Halloween serving dishes, either. I used a black rectangular tray and three small black bowls to make everything stand out.
How to Make Creepy Finger Breadsticks
These creepy breadstick fingers might be my favorite part of the platter! They’re made with refrigerated pizza dough and a few ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
The trick is to make the fingers thinner than you think they should be. Pizza dough expands as it bakes, so starting with skinny fingers helps them keep their shape.
Ingredients
- Refrigerated pizza dough
- Marinara sauce
- Sliced almonds
- Melted butter
- Garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Shape the fingers.
Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the pizza dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin, finger-shaped strip. Make each one skinnier than your actual finger since the dough will puff up in the oven.
Place the fingers on the lined baking sheet, leaving a little room between them.

Step 2: Add the finger details.
Use clean kitchen scissors to make a few small cuts where the knuckles would be. Then gently press down one end of each finger to create a flat nail bed.

Step 3: Add the marinara sauce.
Spoon a little marinara sauce onto each nail bed and the bottom of each finger. This creates a creepy, bloody appearance once the breadsticks are baked.

Step 4: Add the fingernails.
Press a sliced almond into each nail bed, with the wider end pushed into the dough.
Don’t worry if the almond sticks up a little. It actually makes the fingers look even creepier!

Step 5: Brush with butter and bake.
Brush the fingers lightly with melted butter. I mixed a little garlic powder into mine for extra flavor.
Bake at 350°F for approximately 10–13 minutes, checking after 10 minutes. The fingers should be cooked through and lightly golden.

Tips for Making the Best Finger Breadsticks
- Keep the dough thin. The fingers will expand in the oven, so avoid making them too thick.
- Use kitchen scissors. Small cuts create realistic-looking knuckles without much effort.
- Secure the almonds. Press the wider end of each almond firmly into the dough so it stays in place while baking.
- Don’t overbake. Start checking after 10 minutes, especially if your fingers are very thin.
- Serve with extra marinara. These are basically mini garlic breadsticks, so a little marinara sauce makes a great dipping option!
If you have leftover pizza dough, don’t throw it away! You can use it to make Carrot Mummies, another fun Halloween snack for kids.
How to Make Bloody Lychee Eyeballs
These lychee eyeballs look pretty gruesome, but they’re actually made with fruit!
Canned lychees have a naturally round shape and a hollow center, making them perfect for creating edible eyeballs. Add a blueberry and a little red jelly, and you’ve got a spooky Halloween treat!

Ingredients
- 1 can of lychees, drained
- Fresh blueberries
- Strawberry jelly
- Red food coloring
- Mini wooden forks or food-safe picks (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the jelly.
Mix a small amount of strawberry jelly with a few drops of red food coloring until you get a bright, blood-red color.
Step 2: Drain the lychees.
Drain the canned lychees well so the jelly sticks to the fruit instead of sliding off.
Step 3: Add the bloody details.
Spoon a small amount of the red jelly into the hollow center of each lychee. Let a little of the jelly spread over the outside to create bloody-looking veins.

Step 4: Add the blueberries.
Press a fresh blueberry into the center of each lychee. The blueberry becomes the pupil, while the lychee looks like the white part of the eye.
I used mini wooden forks to serve the eyeballs, which made them easy to pick up from the platter.

Tips for Making Lychee Eyeballs
- Use canned lychees to save time.
- Choose blueberries that fit snugly into the lychee openings.
- Start with just a little jelly. You can always add more for a bloodier appearance.
- Keep the eyeballs refrigerated until you’re ready to serve them.
These are a fun way to add fruit to a Halloween party platter without needing to carve or decorate anything.
How to Make an Easy Mummy Dip
This mummy dip is probably the easiest part of the whole platter!
You can use almost any thick, creamy dip you like. I used powdered onion dip mix combined with plain Greek yogurt, but ranch dip, French onion dip, or another favorite would work just as well.
The mummy effect comes from strips of string cheese layered over the dip.

Ingredients
- Your favorite thick dip (I used onion dip mix and plain Greek yogurt)
- String cheese
- 2 edible candy eyes
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the dip.
Prepare your favorite dip according to the package instructions and transfer it to a small serving bowl.
I mixed powdered onion dip with plain Greek yogurt for mine.
Step 2: Add the mummy bandages.
Pull thin strips from the string cheese and arrange them across the surface of the dip.
Overlap the strips in different directions so they look like mummy bandages. Leave a couple of small openings for the eyes.

Step 3: Add the eyes.
Place two edible candy eyes between the cheese strips.
That’s it! Your mummy dip is ready to serve.

Mummy Dip Variations
The fun thing about this dip is how easy it is to customize.
- French onion dip: A classic choice for pretzels and chips.
- Ranch dip: Great for serving with fresh vegetables.
- Cream cheese-based dip: Use a savory spread that’s thick enough to hold the cheese strips.
- Greek yogurt dip: A simple option that adds protein.
For the best mummy effect, choose a dip that’s thick enough to support the cheese without letting it sink.
How to Assemble Your Halloween Snack Platter
Once you’ve prepared the three Halloween snacks, assembling the platter takes just a few minutes.

- Arrange the bowls. Place three small serving bowls on a large tray or platter. I positioned the finger breadsticks in the center, lychee eyeballs on one side, and mummy dip on the other.
- Add the creepy fingers. Stand the breadstick fingers upright in their bowl so the almond fingernails are visible.
- Arrange the eyeballs. Place the lychee eyeballs in a bowl with their blueberries facing up. Add mini wooden forks if desired.
- Position the mummy dip. Keep the mummy’s eyes facing upward so they’re easy to see.
- Fill in the empty spaces. Add flat pretzels and popcorn around the bowls until the platter looks full.
I love using a dark tray for Halloween because it makes the different colors and textures stand out without needing extra decorations.
Tips for Making a Halloween Snack Board on a Budget
You don’t need dozens of ingredients to make an impressive Halloween snack platter. Here are a few ways to keep things simple and affordable.
Use store-bought shortcuts. Refrigerated pizza dough, canned lychees, and a packet of dip mix make this much easier than preparing everything from scratch.
Choose inexpensive fillers. Popcorn and pretzels take up plenty of space on the board without costing much.
Use what you already have. There’s no need to purchase Halloween-themed serving dishes. Dark bowls and an ordinary tray work perfectly.
Keep the decorative foods simple. Three spooky snacks are enough to make the entire platter feel festive. You don’t have to turn every ingredient into a Halloween character.
Can You Make This Halloween Platter Ahead of Time?
Yes! You can prepare most of the components ahead of time and assemble the platter just before serving.
Finger breadsticks: Bake them earlier in the day and store them covered once cooled. Reheat briefly in the oven if you’d prefer to serve them warm.
Lychee eyeballs: Drain the lychees and prepare the jelly in advance. Assemble the eyeballs closer to serving time and keep them refrigerated.
Mummy dip: Prepare the dip ahead of time and refrigerate it. Add the string cheese and candy eyes shortly before serving for the best appearance.
Popcorn and pretzels: Keep these separate until you’re ready to assemble the board so they stay crunchy.
Because the platter contains dairy and prepared fruit, keep those components refrigerated until serving and avoid leaving the finished platter at room temperature for more than two hours.
